Self Defence Courses

With over 15 years of experience in the field of self-defence, we have used our expertise to devise our own unique, popular and effective self-defence courses which are suitable for corporate groups, schools or any other groups.

Personal Safety Awareness is now an important skill to have, and giving your employees, pupils, friends, family or colleagues the chance to learn these skills is an empowering opportunity. Whether you are looking for a corporate event with a difference, a fun, new challenge or whether the skills you will learn are an essential and integral part of your daily or working life, we can certainly help you.

Basic Content of Courses

Having studied the philosophy of self-defence, our instructors teach theoretical concepts such as risk reduction, defensive strategies and elements of de-escalation (how to use verbalisation to reduce the risk of attack). These are all key factors in how to reduce the risk of finding yourself in a potentially dangerous situation.

In terms of practical applications, in order not to overwhelm the student, we teach a few very simple, but extremely effective, techniques. For dynamic impact training, these techniques are practised on pads and punch bags to enable the student to learn how to generate power.  We also cover some simple releases from grabs and restraints which, again, are easy to pick up but very effective in practice.

Although normally not covered in the basic course we are able to teach participants how to restrain others if needed, which may be applicable in your particular field.

The final part of the course involves dynamic simulation training using our Red Man suit, which enables the student to play out a range of scenarios with an instructor who is wearing protective equipment.  Few other courses can provide as realistic a simulation.

Although there is a certain amount of physical exercise, there is no fitness requirement and we can cater for all abilities.

Course Lengths

Our most popular course types are as follows:

  • A course of six one-hour sessions over a six week period

  • One day intensive course

  • Weekend (or two full-days) course

Course Contents can be tailored to suit any age group, occupation, interests or any particular areas of interest or concern. We have female and male instructors available.
